I have heard the growing point is just at ground level when corn is 1 foot tall. So, you probably aren't looking at replant. But you will lose the time for the plant to get back to where it was. It sure doesn't do it any good to have all the wounds to let in pathogens and problems. Good growing conditions and rapidly growing, robust plants are the best thing to fight off problems.
Easier to say than do, but don't look at it for 10 days and it will look way better.
Not a fun experience. Do everything right and 3 pound hammers drop out of the sky.
