SE MN | I am from se MN and there the county boys send out letters and do checks to make sure that everyone has killed off the musk thistle on their land. We actually have to cut them off, gather them up and burn them to do it right. They are a noxious weed and spread fast. I am in West Lafayette Indiana now, and I couldn't believe the musk thistles growing in the ditches right into town. There are actually some growing next to the power pole at my apartment building inside town. They don't seem to be quite as beefy as the ones we get back home, so maybe the don't spread as fast here.
Are there requirements for killing musk thistles where you are at?
We also have a bit of a Canada thistle problem, but most don't get too excited about them. | |
