Just my two pesos. A good chopper pays for itslef several times over. Saves that field work and allows one to just no-till the beans right into standing wheat stubble. Also saves a lot of moisture vs. discing. I hate the disc, it is the biggest moisture waster, 'specimally in the summer months, unless, one goes right behind the disc with a heavy harrow to firm ground and seal in moisture.
