Subject: Which soybean double-crop system after wheat?

NC Missouri
We presently disc stubble and plant with kinze twin-line with coulters. Positives: Good early growth, eliminate one spraying, and no extra equipment to buy. Negatives: Discing extra work when busy harvesting, stubble mulch can hurt stand, combining close to ground in fall is a problem if soil is damp.
My brother wants to consider baling straw to reduce trash. I've considered stripper head but bean emergence rate would be slower and would surely effect yield somewhat? Should we just put chopper on combines and forget baling? What do you find works well?
