Subject: Friday afternoon rain on our cotton fields

East Central Arkansas
We finally got a rain on our farm here in Monroe county. We got any where from 7/10 to 1.2 in. The rain was hit and miss with a lot of neighbors missing. We still need a good general rainfall over our area of the state. We only had about 90 ac left to get watered before the rain and a half of mile of polypipe to lay. This rain was a blessing for those that received it and I sure hope others will get some soon. Even with irrigation and fields that are easy to water the dust gets so bad here on the field roads you don't like driving around on them. I often wonder if it gets this dusty in other areas of the country that tend to get less rainfall than we do. They sure don't seem to put air filters on pickups designed for this kind of fine dust.
