Phil Needham is very good on many aspects of intensive mgmt of wheat. Catch one of his seminars sometime.
Another good source of info is Wayne Smith of Western Australia, who has quite a following across Australia and S. Africa. He was at the No-Till on the Plains Winter Conference & AIM Symposium in Salina, KS last January. You can purchase AIM Symposium materials (which include many good color photos of nutrient deficiencies) from http://notill.org/
Also, the April 07 issue of Leading Edge had a brilliant article by Smith, and again had many color photos of nutrient deficiencies.
