| Good advice, but...my drowned out corn sits in a very irregular way in my center pivot field - very difficult to leave a strip for later that would very long. That is one reason I want to collect now instead of trying to replant something with crazy contours in the middle of the field. I'm not wanting to try to insure a second crop - just wanting paid on the first one. I can't get them to do an appraisal since they want me to do a late, late , late replant instead. They said anything over 20 acres counts as a payable loss, but they want me to replant well after the deadline. I guess I can leave it till harvest and have it appraised then, but it's a no-brainer right now - there is literally no corn at all in these areas - just dirt. It would/will appraise at zero bushels/acre. We've had massive flooding this spring. | |
