Last rain was 05/16/07 a piddly .6" only rain we have had since about the 3rd week of April. So yes we are getting mighty dry here in the Little Sahara (A term my Granddad used to use when it turns off dry here) Lets also not forget the winds of Kansas (a term I use because we never seem to have a calm day) that seem to blow here continuously. They have been exceptionally strong all spring further drying things out.  

We're already seeing 4-& 5 collar corn rolling up pretty tightly in the heat of the day. If we don't get some rain pretty soon things are going to get ugly fast. Lots of uneven stands and lots of blanks in  the beans in this area where there was not enough moisture to get beans up and going.
