Weiner, AR
Spread your risk, plant a 2.0. It is slightly later than what you have been planting and will give you added growing days for the late planting. I had a maturity, planting date, and population study for my PhD research and the later planted soybeans responded quite well to population. If you go with your usual maturity and have doubts, bump the seeding rate up 20-30%. By planting an early maturing soybean late, it's vegetative height and therefore number of nodes and pods per plant is reduced. Higher populations will make up for some of this loss. If you are still in your ideal planting window, then high populations could cause lodging on a tall plant. I grew MG 0 through 6 in Arkansas for this study.
