I don't think it mattered what variety you have, it all has leaf rust this year. There were some guys around here spraying, but I've heard some didn't get it on fast enough and didn't do a damn bit of good. That would be hard to swallow at $20+/acre. We have some wheat that barely has a leaf left on it but the head has completely filled and is trying to fill 4 rows/meshes. All I hear about is flag leaf this and that, but I don't see how it's affecting grain fill. My big worry is the freeze damage to the stem. I think as the heads start dough stage, we're going to see some lodging from the weakened stem.
