| Marc the secondary gauge wheel does a number of things for you. It allows you to run higher levels of down pressure in the dry areas and still have more contact area in the wet areas so the row unit doesn't sink so much and fill with mud. It also confines the soil coming off the swirl which enables higher speed operation. The addition of a second left handed swirl adds additional tilth.
Sorry about the picture size guys. I thought they were quite clear. When I go to the field I'm typically using a video camera because I am analyzing performance for developement purposes and not necessarily with a post in mind. For this reason I am using a video camera which is why my pictures come out like that when they are captured.
