Kippen, Ontario | We always underseed our wheat to red clover but that is never a sure bet since if the wheat does well the clover usually suffers. We dont get a good stand of clover every year. Even if we did get a good clover stand i think we would have to burn it off in the fall anyway so it doesnt come back to haunt us the next spring in the corn, since i dont think a salford rts type machine would kill the clover. Do you think a machine like the salford rts(1 pass in the fall, nh3 bar preplant in spring followed by the rts again or field cultivator) would bury or mix the wheat residue in enough in the spring so that alleopathy or slugs wouldnt be as big of an issue? | |
