Subject: RE: Rust in Winter Wheat?

I live in SW Kansas and we had the same decision to make about 3 weeks ago. A lot of wheat was sprayed and I sprayed most of mine. We usually don't need to spray but this year our wheat looks really good and the rust started early just like your's. Two things are for sure. 1. I assume it is leaf rust and not stripe rust but if it is stripe rust you should have sprayed yesterday. 2. If your going to spray now is the time. Most people here waited 4or 5 days longer and the lessions really exploded. It costs a lot so you want to get the full benefit. I think I'm glad that I sprayed but we will probably never know for sure. The wheat I didn't spray lost all it's leaves about two weeks before the sprayed. Sorry I can't be more definitive. Good luck
