Subject: RE: wells for irrigating?

Wheatley, Arkansas
Wes, we have various size wells around here, depending on field size they range from 400 GPM on a 20 AC field to 3500 GPM on a 185 AC field. We also have some farms that are in 3-4 section blocks that have as many as 10 wells in various locations on the farm that are all tied together via underground pipe lines. We have submersible electric wells from 7.5 to 50 HP , line shaft turbines diesel and electric powered. There are a few centrifugal wells in our area. Our wells are 100-135 feet deep with the water table being 30-65 feet. We also use as much surface water as possible until we pump the creeks dry. WE have several tail water recovery systems as well. One of our farms reuses every drop of run off water during the summer. One of our hired hands said we "used the water till we wore the wet off of it" LOL. If it weren't for irrigation we would not be able to survive.
