Walnut Grove MN USA | Is fall N an option where you are? Anhydrous + dry P & K will be the least #'s handled, also a lower salt load as anhydrous has no salt in it. I personally won't touch anydrous anymore so I have been all liquid thru the Dawn units but that will be changing due to a loss of some manpower in the spring. I am not sure what I will be doing but have some ideas I am kicking around. You will be handling about 300# urea for the N source and figure up to 250 # for the P & K depending on the soil levels you have now. Some guys cut P & K levels up to 50% since it is banded near the plant. Right know I am planning on 140# N and 25# P and 25# K in the strip in the fall and in the spring 6 gallon of 8-16-11-2 with micros in the furrow with the planter. For corn on corn I will sidress more N as 28%. Some fields will get more P based on soil tests. | |
