We always use ester, the amine sticks around too long. We generally give a pint of ester week if the weather is warm and dry. We have pushed that by a day or 2. Another consideration is if you are going to no-till or not. If the 2-4-D hasn't dissipated enough, I have seen some damage on some neighbors conventional plant beans when they've ran a field cultivator to soon.
