Subject: RE: raw milk

Chilliwack BC
I think that part of it comes from growing up on the farm and being around all the same bacteria and building up an immunity to it. I drink raw milk too, but if my nephews come to the farm we buy pasteiurized milk for them because they aren't in the barn every day.

The problem that these raw milk dairies present it that most of it is consumed by people in the city, who have never had any farm exposure. If someone in Vancouver buys it and a couple of thier kids friends come over and have it, there is a potential for these kids to get very sick. The entire dairy industry then suffers because there is no mention in the media of it being from an illegal raw milk dairy.

There is also no SCC or bacteria count tests done or antibiotic testing. As Glenn mentioned below, there is also no standards to follow for cooling or sanitation.
