Texas/New Mexico Stateline | We got into the foster care with the intention of adopting. The first two kids we got (siblings) we were able to adopt. After a gut wrenching ordeal when they almost had to go back. It is unusual to adopt the first foster kids you take. Sometimes you may have to go through several placements until it works out. It costs very little to do adoption through foster care, at least the state of TX pays for everything. If you can stand the illogical actions and rules of the CPS system, I would recommend adopting through them. It just takes lots of tongue biting and patience knowing they are doing the wrong things sometimes. I am more willing to share info through private email if you want ton know more about it. VERY rewarding in the end when it is final. We love our two to death. 5year old had her birthday party today. |
