Dunnell MN | We've adopted twice. The first time from Ethiopia. We brought home a 19 month old daughter in Feb of 08. Our second time, we adopted a 6 yr old boy from Uganda. My wife and son returned home from there Oct 2010. Both children have been/are a blessing to our family.
As for costs, this will vary depending on what type of adoption...a foster to adopt from the US foster system, a domestic infant adoption, international adoption. International adoptions vary a lot in costs by country, but a domestic adoption varies too.
You are not crazy, but honestly, it is different than having a bio child (at first), we have a bio son. There are many things a family can/should do to help a child attach to you as parents.
But VERY worth it.
