| We adopted our boys, one was three and the other was four. They came from a childerns home that was county ran and overflowing. I don't think that we were really ready for kids that age but we learned. The boys now have homes and kids of their own and are more independant than a lot of kids that age. One of the boys biological parents disappeared completely and no one has any idea what ever happened to them. The other boy made contact with some of his biological relatives and has maintained contact with his uncles, but has absolutely no use for his mother or father. I am humbled because as adults and free to make the choice we are still their mom and dad. There are several childerns homes that also work with adoption. Pine Haven Childrens Ranch in Montana works with unwed mother that are under age and some of those babies are given up for adoption (or was at one time) but there are many childern's home that are looking for parents, espacially if you are willing to take children up to preschool age. We would do it again in a heart beat. | |
