Some pics in the local paper (this particular farm is not far from me either) had them milking into cans, and I highly doubt it got cooled much other than maybe a fridge later. Ours instantly gets cooled to 50-60F before hitting the tank, where it is cooled within .5hr of milking to 37F. Bacteria love warm milk, its amazing how fast it reproduces while it is warm. Gets pretty gross pretty quick.
I drink raw milk at home, but my wife and daughter drink pasteurized milk. My younger daughter also drinks raw milk, but she gets it straight from the source. When we have company, they only get the purchased milk. No sense in risking anything with other people.
