NW Tennessee | Used to always plant 180K, but more and more tests are showing no yield loss in our area from lower pops. Even most seed reps have been advising us to lower our pops. Been cutting back the last two or three years and try to plant around 160K now. I have gotten into a few situations where higher rates would have made me feel better after a big rain but haven't seen any yield drag from lower pops. | |
