Been drilling beans for 10 years and usually plant 186,000 and end up with around 150-160. Also am crop adjuster so see and talk a bunch with different farmers. I agree with earlier post, other than spending $ on seed, you will be just fine. We over populate just because we only want to plant once, pretty cheap insurance. I've seen population charts from universities and starting around 210,000 final stand you would begin seeing a yield drag.
