If you are looking to build organic matter, corn stalks have worked the best here, going from 1.2% to 4.0% organic in three years continuous corn. Wheat straw is good for a short while, then it is gone.
We have notilled corn after wheat-double crop with good results. NH3 knifed in preplant, thin knives-no mole knives for no till. | |
