Subject: RE: Hay yields in Ohio?

We only have about 50 acres up so far and most of it had a thin enough stand that we no-tilled beans into it but it's averaged about .5 ton/acre so far.  There has been alot of Lepto leaf spot showing up in the alfalfa around here which combined with the frost damage is keeping our first cutting of alfalfa to 15-15% of normal.  Last year we had some first cutting alfalfa that made almost 3 tons per acre and this year some of it will take three acres to make one ton.
