| I tend to agree. Stop and think about these surveys for a second. If all of us (the farmers) refused to give the USDA our planting intention numbers in March, the market would have no idea about the number of corn acres planted. I think there would be a huge premium in prices right now if no one knew there is around 90.5 mil acres corn in the ground right now. The end users would be in a panic and buying our old crop for about $5 or more.
I refused a USDA survey if Feb. this year. It wasnt about planting intentions, but until someone can convince me that doing these surveys will definetly help me more that hurt me, I dont see the point in cooperating with them. Sorry, but in commodities, its every man for himself. | |
