AMS and water conditioners are supposed to go in first, to tie up the minerals. University research (NDSU?) has more recently indicated, howver, that the hard-water tieup happens on the leaf, not in the tank. When AMS is used as a nitrogen source, it doens't matter.

My guess is they want the dry products in first just so they have more time to dissolve. In my experience, I have NEVER seen problems from mixing in the wrong order. Modern sprayers have plenty of agitation...unless you are running a spray coup putting on three GPA.
