Well, I would doubt it. What was your evapotranspiration for that month and a half? I would think at least an inch and a half, but find out from your weather stations, and that would only leave 3 inches of water moving down. That really isn't a lot. Since you say you have lots of organic material I'm going to assume your ground has fair water holding capacity, I'll use 2 inches of water per foot of soil. That would mean in that time, the water you receied would have moved down about 1 and 1/2 feet. Since the nitrogen tends to move about half as much on the average as the water, that would mean the nitrogen that was in a leachable form would have moved down about 3/4 of a foot on the average. Certainly not out of reach of most crops.

You can plug in numbers based on your local conditions and be more exact. Or you could actually go out with a drill and a nitrate meter and check it...
