old round bales work here, dairy farmers like to get rid of the old ones and a couple placed in the washouts every couple hundred feet allow it to recover. been using them for quite a long time. Amazing how the soil builds itself up around them. rotate them up and down the slope as time goes by. For really bad areas a tractor tire filled with dirt will hold and can be moved later if not needed. Rocks work well but better be sure it's permanent or your getting younger.
