Subject: slugs, I got them bad

Can anybody point me the right way, I don't know much about them.Part of the farm was notilled to corn in an old cow pasture. There was a few damp spots and the trench opened back up a little, thats where there the worst. Don't they eat the plant? The corn is just starting to come up.The rest was notilled into wheat stubble, not near as bad but still see some. They don't seem to be on the corn just crawling around the rows. Its NK corn with cruiser, some of the seed had Kickstart or Latitude also added if that matters. When I say bad I'd guess they average half dozen per foot. That seems bad to me. Where the trench is closed good I can't seem to find many.It would be the handiest for me to put something in with the herbicide but I don't know if thats possible. Any info would be great. THANKS
