Hanford, CA | Pulled a couple of red bell peppers from the fridge last night, peeled the 'Produce from Mexico' label off, sliced them...and WHAT?!? A little boll weevil!!! I hadn't seen a boll weevil in a few years...and that was in Costa Rica...not CA! I have never seen a boll weevil in CA nor do I want to. I found this VERY strange to have a boll weevil on a bell pepper. It could have come from many sources, but it is pretty scary how we transports insects.
