North Central Iowa | Is your soil subject to crusting? With that kind of hard rain, that's what I would be worried about, because beans won't push through as well as corn will. Go dig some up and see what's going on. If you go out there and can find a lot of bean 'necks' (the stems come through first usually, bent over in an oval, then push the cotyledons up through) but don't see many fully emerged, dig a couple up and see what things look like. They will keep trying for a while, then die if they can't get through. They are pretty tough, but I wouldn't waste any time getting out there and seeing what you've got. A rotary hoe wouldn't be out of the question if the beans look like they are having trouble. BTW, I finished on Saturday, and my beans were just starting to show through in spots last night, after 2.5 inches of rain overnight and yesterday morning, so unless you've been cooler or planted a lot deeper, you should be seeing some results any time now.
