The only thing I can think of is that maybe your Curvetine wheels are set too far apart. As you can see in the action photo, there usually is no slot left. Now cotton is planted shallower than corn. You may want to take one or both 3/8" thick spacers out. If you remove the RH wheel spacer you can pull the shaft pin out and the shaft will not loosen. I guess I would try that. Ideally in cotton you want to be no more than about 2.0" center to center on the tines at the tightest point. 1.75" is better. This is not between them but center to center.

For reference, corn works well at 2.5 in approx. and is where we normally run. I would ask the folks at Ag Center in Ripley or Dyersberg how they usually set them up on new planters. They have a lot of these out in cotton. This is not a comment I hear much about so there must be a local solution. There is a benefit to having a good local experienced dealer. Best of Luck.
