West Central, Iowa | There have been a number of times that my dad has been interviewed by the register for certain ethanol issues (he is involved in local, state and national ethanol organizations) and they have cut and pasted his comments to put them into different context to make it look like a whole different quote altogether. He now will only grant interviews to the register if they allow them to approve his quotes that they are going to publish. funny thing is now two of their ag reporters stopped calling him for quotes.
I agree that they only care about 3 specific areas, living in Western Iowa you kind of realize that apparently we aren't part of the state. The register is a midwest paper that is trying to be an east coast publication. They have their urban audience wrapped around their finger with whatever they say and have decided to not care about the rural parts of the state, even though 2/3 of iowas population lives in rural areas. | |
