Modena, Wisconsin | I got a new Kinze this year also and went with two Dawn curvtines per row. Old system was a CIH rubber wheel system and I had noticed problems closing especially in the clay on our hills. On the blacker dirt it would close but maybe open if planted wet and dried later. With the curvtines this year it left a very nice surface behind the planter. Everything was covered, it emerged nicely and no problems with crusting. I don't know that you could do a better job with a hoe planting by hand. Here is a pic behind the planter in soybean stubble.
