Pulaski, TN | I feel your pain. Very dry here in southern middle TN also. Good hay weather is all I can say. I have been waiting to plant beans since the 11th of May. My plan this morning (plans have changed too many times to count) is to fill the fertilizer tanks on the planter with water (to add weight) and set the depth to about 2" and plant beans. Last week we got 4 tenths inch of rain and I planted about 6 acres. The north wind started and dried out the row down to the beans. They have not come up yet. Some have sprouted and will emerge and some are just sitting there. With a 80% germ on the seed I am planting I may not get a stand with adequate moisture!! Never faced this problem before and don't care to again. | |
