| We no tilled our corn in to soybean stubble with a new Kinze planter with cast iron closing wheels. The ground was definitely fit and planted great. We have been dry since and the corn is now 6-8 inches tall and looks great. The problem is the slots are starting to open back up. Will this be a problem and how do we avoid in the future. What caused it to split back open?
Our agronomist is concerned if we go to the spike closing wheel we would have dried out and had poor germination. We have heard about something called curve tine but do not know anything about them. Has anyone had any experience in dry conditions splitting back open.
Any help would be appreciated.
