I used Prilosec too...and it worked...but I was able to sort out what was causing my problem and once I eliminated or cut those way back I have had no need for the medication.  Coffee, tomatoes, way too much diet coke (with or without rum), and OJ were my biggest culprits. Worst culprit was the diet coke. Since cutting way back on those items I have no more than an occasional mild heartburn (1-2x a  month) that can be knocked down with a Tums or Rolaids. I can now enjoy those items in moderation and feel much better.
