South Central Alberta
New years eve I was just finishing posting something at about the same time my wife pulled the drain plug of the tub. A few minutes later we could smell a smell that is filed in the panic section of my mind. Sewer coming back up the floor drain in the basement. One minute later I'm standing in it over the drain working the plunger but to no avail. I thought the line to the septic tank was blocked but rather the tank was full. My wife is the same calibre of germiphobe.

Side note for sewer lines in need of repair or replacement: A local company here called "New Line Trenchless Technologies" pulls new line in through the old line. Neighbor had it done and said it worked well. There must be companies like that in your area.
