Long as your daughter could get some skin,that means she can reach it.  Give her a straight corkscrew have her thread it in.  Tie a string to it so you can pull back on it. Another  thought as long as you have it out you can try a graden hose with a rag wrapped around it.  Hold the rag as tight as you can and turn the water on.Do this from backside. Can also put a hairdryer pointed at the the thing and dry it out. should shrink enough.  I would think a closet auger would screw into it.
