Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | My mother made what we call 3-day bars. Actually they are a German bar made of candied fruit, chocolate chips, and dough. Has to set 3 days to "mature" then bake. They are really good. My wife has now taken over the duties of making them.
On her side of the family there are these round chocolate fudge things that at one time were bars that my mother-in-law made when they were kids and instead of making them into a square bar she rolled a few round ones into a ball and my wife and brother called them "turds". They have been turds ever since.
