Near Richmond, IN | Mom always made what we called Dutch Dressing. It was mashed potatoes with bread in it and I think maybe some onion, probably something else too and then baked. Some of our not too distant relatives spoke Pennsylvania Dutch so I imagine it came from them. Another I really like is scalloped onions--kind of like scalloped potatoes but made with onions. And of course scalloped oysters.
I'd like to get my wife to make the fruitcake that Jorn had the recipe for, one of our family favorites--it was really good. | |
