(e) Short-haul operations
(e)(1) 100 air-mile radius driver. A driver is exempt from the requirements of Section 395.8 if:
(e)(1)(i) The driver operates within a 100 air-mile radius of the normal work reporting location;
You do not need a logbook as long as you are within 100 air miles from work reporting location. You still need a time keeping system such as a time card to show hours of service. There are exemptions from hours of service for certain things.
