West Texas | I had to get one single socket for one purpose, and it was a 2 15/16" 1" drive. I found it at a local used tool store for $70 for the one socket and I thought even then it was a bargain. I don't use it on anything else, though.
I tell you, though, if I had access to a set of tools like that, I'd be eyeing stuff to see what I should start on first. I agree that the first couple of scratches are gonna be a bit painful, but the incipient rust that I see should ease that pain just fine. Nothing removes rust like frequent use. Grin.
