And when the bathing was done, we used the bath water to wash the porch off. All hot water was heated on a kerosene stove except for when Mom washed quilts and sheets. Then we built a wood fire under the wash pot in the yard. Remember having to wring the water out of them when she finished washing them. Then on the clothes line they went. Took two of us boys to put one wet quilt on the line.
Where did piss poor come from?
