A few weeks ago we had company visiting from a very large Eastern U. S. city.  We took them up the road (1/2 mile) to see the progress on the kids' new home; they were driving a rental car.  He pulled the car right up snug to the overhead garage door of the new house.  There were at least 4 other of our family's vehicles in the drive, and 5 adult family members.  When our guests got out of the car, closed the car door and ....yep......locked the doors.  I thought, OK...his wife's purse is in the car.  Nope, she carried it with her.  Just the difference in habits and the way life is in the big city and a tiny Iowa township.
