Rivers, MB | It sounds like you have thought through many of the pitfalls with bringing kids into the farm. I like the 5 year idea. It gives you a trial period with few strings attached. Congrats to you to being that progressive.
In Canada, moving to a registered partnership first before moving to a corporation gives some serious tax benefits because of our capital gains laws. Don't know if that applies to you. Is a LLP a partnership or a corporation??
