Nov 30, 1950 was the worst casualty day for US Troops during the Korean War and since WW 2. On that day nearly 800 Us Troops were either killed or missing. The US Second Infantry Division was especially hard hit at Kunu-Ri as the Chinese overran the South Korean Division on their right flank. They quickly threw the newly arrived Turkish Brigade in the path of the Chinese but they were also overrun. The Chinese got behind the Second Division and ambushed them while they were withdrawing through a mountain pass. On that fateful day the US also suffered heavy casualties in the Chosin Reservoir area. Not a good day. Jim J
