Actually, I think this part addresses the problem Sprocket describes: No driver of a school bus shall take on or discharge passengers at any location upon a highway consisting of four or more lanes of traffic, whether or not divided by a median or barrier, in such a manner as to require the passengers to cross more than two lanes of traffic. With the center turn lane, discharging the kids who do not live on the bus driver's right would require that they cross 2 lanes of traffic. I would think that would be illegal. Even though that exact situation is not listed. JMHO |
