I am a basketball official. We have control over the game, not the crowd. It is up to the team to control their fans. We can stop the game or assess a technical foul, but I cannot escort someone out. It most cases the AD or the principal will take care of stuff like that. I would have given the player another free throw, stopped the game, and waited for the person to be taken out or leave.
